Pizza Hut's First Taste of Virtual Media Events
One of 2020’s biggest trends is that traditional product launches and media events have transitioned to completely virtual environments. With all safety considerations in mind, AKA’s clients have continued to leverage our expertise to provide polished and engaging live content for key stakeholders, influencers, media and trade contacts.
Brands must continue to move forward with their product launches, including Pizza Hut, with the launch of their new Beyond Meat Italian Sausage Pizza. Pizza Hut looked to AKA to produce an embargoed virtual media event that officially announced this dual-branded partnership and their contemporary new product.
THE AKA SOLUTION
We recommended producing a fully live-streamed, private show, allowing talent and viewers to stream in for the partnership announcement while staying safe and socially distanced. AKA’s more than 20 years of live video production experience allowed us to provide contemporary and streamlined resources to accomplish Pizza Hut’s goals.
AKA connected leadership live from Pizza Hut’s test kitchen in Dallas, Beyond Meat’s Atlanta offices — and even arranged a surprise celebrity guest appearance from comedian Kevin Hart.
We pulled all feeds into an off-site control room to produce a completely virtual 30-minute show across multiple platforms, which featured live video and photo roll-ins, lower third graphics and an interactive audience Q&A session.
Talent had the opportunity to speak and interact with one another, as well as media participants who tuned in for the interactive and engaging experience.
Forty media contacts viewed this live announcement and received a first look (and taste) of Pizza Hut’s Beyond Meat pizza. This embargoed approach to nationally launch this new product resulted in earned coverage on major news outlets like CNN, CNBC and Fox Business.
