CB2’S FIRST-EVER VIRTUAL PRODUCT LAUNCH
Live virtual events have been the hot-ticket item, as 2020 plans shift to the virtual world, while still generating excellent results for clients. CB2, part of the Crate and Barrel portfolio, recently tapped AKA to fully produce and facilitate a live-streamed Virtual Product Showcase to launch their newest furniture collection.
The Challenge
While CB2 has historically planned in-person product launches, their 2020 plans shifted, given Covid-19 restrictions. The CB2 team was in search of a solution that would prove to be effective in sharing brand news with relevant audiences while taking all health and safety precautions necessary.

AKA’s partners have historically relied on us to produce and facilitate successful, results-driven product launches and demonstrations, media activations, and even concerts. We recommended that CB2 host their first-ever virtual event to announce and showcase their Fall 2020 Kara Mann Collection.

Our Approach
Over 20 years of live video production experience allowed AKA to provide all of the resources necessary to carry out this intricate virtual launch, ensuring that it reflected a sleek, seamless and safe event while accomplishing our client’s goals and metrics.
This virtual showcase was broken into two consecutive events: one for the media launch, followed by a second for trade partners. These events included a fully customized registration page, video roll-in, and the opportunity for audience members to participate in a live Q&A session with the hosts. These hosts included CB2’s president, Ryan Turf, who sat down with renowned interior designer, Kara Mann, to discuss and preview her new CB2 furniture collection.
Our Proof
Over two consecutive days, the virtual launch events allowed CB2 to connect directly with 40 media contacts and 338 trade partners, providing them with a preview of the new product line, and the opportunity to ask questions and connect with CB2 in real-time.
This launch laid the groundwork for what may be CB2’s “new normal” for all future trade events. Client feedback was overwhelmingly positive, especially as they moved to the unfamiliar digital space…
