As a token of appreciation for the heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic, McDonald’s offered free Thank You Meals for a limited time to healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters and paramedics.
THE CHALLENGE
McDonald’s needed to connect a franchisee spokesperson with media outlets nationwide to share support for our healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters and paramedics on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The turnaround time was a mere four days.
THE AKA SOLUTION
While the majority of America stayed home during shelter-in-place, McDonald’s remained open — and so did AKA. Despite social distancing, AKA produced a successful 4-hour Remote Satellite/Digital Media Tour to share the McDonald’s story. The AKA team hand-delivered our On-the-Go SMT Kit (from a safe distance, of course) to the McDonald’s spokesperson. This allowed her to participate in a full morning of media interviews via both Zoom and satellite, right from her living room.
